Privacy Policy
How SRL Welding Ltd handles your personal details. Last updated 22 October 2026.
Who we are
SRL Welding Ltd ("we", "us") is the data controller for the personal details you give us through this website or by phone and email. We are a welding, pipework and steel fabrication business based at Unit 1, Example Industrial Estate, Scunthorpe, DN15 0AA.
If you have any question about this policy, contact us using the details at the bottom of the page.
What information we collect
When you use the contact form on our website we collect the name, phone number, email address and message you type in. If you phone or email us, we collect the same kind of details plus your address where needed to quote for or carry out work.
We only ask for what we need to reply to you and do the job. We do not take payment details through this website, we do not build marketing lists, and we do not pass your details to anyone who wants to sell you things.
How we use your information
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, arrange a site visit, prepare a quote, agree and carry out the work you have asked for, and keep a record of the job for our own accounts and warranty purposes.
We do this because you have asked us to get in touch (consent), because it is needed to carry out a job you have hired us for, and because it is in our legitimate interest to run and improve our business. We never make decisions about you by automated means.
Sharing your information
We do not sell or rent your personal details. We only share them where it is necessary to run the business, for example with our website and email providers, or where we are legally required to, such as by a court or the police.
The contact page shows a Google Maps map of Scunthorpe. When that map loads, Google may set cookies and record your IP address under their own privacy policy — we have no control over that.
Cookies
This website does not place advertising, tracking or profiling cookies of its own. It only uses the small technical files needed to display the pages.
Third-party services we embed, such as Google Maps, may set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may then not work as expected.
How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry details only for as long as needed to answer you and, if the job goes ahead, for the length of our working relationship. Enquiries that do not lead to work are normally deleted within twelve months.
Job records that we are required to keep for accounting or warranty reasons are stored securely and deleted when that requirement ends.
How we protect your information
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your details, including keeping them on password-protected systems and limiting access to the people who need them to do the job. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop using it in a particular way. You can also object to our use of your details, ask for your details in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time where we relied on consent.
To make a request, contact us using the details below and we will respond within one month. There is no charge. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time, for example if we add a new service or a new tool to the website. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised, so please check it again when you use the site.
